Endings and Beginnings...
Hey everybody, it's Ruby here.
My name is Ruby, and I'm a long-term friend and employee of the Riemer Family.
As you may or may not know, I've been working here at Riemer Family Farm over the summer as a Marketing and Outreach Assistant. In other words, Anastasia's assistant.
This summer, I was looking for a job. I wasn't expecting to find one, due to the current pandemic. I was unsure that there would be a place for me on the RFF team, because I found - after living on a farm my whole life, until last winter - that I don't really enjoy actual farming. But I reached out to Bryce and Jen and asked if they had a place for me on the marketing/administrative side of the business. I was very thankful when they offered me a spot working under Anastasia as her assistant. My first real job. I had worked markets with the Riemers before, so I knew some about the business, but not much.
I am very glad that I got the opportunity to work with them this summer. Not only am I doing a job that I enjoy, I am working with people that I know and love. In addition to being my employer, the Riemers are also long-term family friends, and I was happy to have the opportunity to spend more time with them.
My job has consisted of answering customer emails, order comments, and other customer feedback. I have also helped construct the layout for sales and launches, sale web-pages, and more. I have helped with product information management, and I have cleaned up the photos all around the website. Occasionally, I'll help with packing orders.
I have learned a lot over the summer, and hopefully these experiences can help me out in the future. I found that I enjoyed working on the website most. I'm not sure why, but I just enjoy creating and managing the website pages. Sometimes, work days became frustrating or long, especially when figuring out logistics to new launches or sales. Thankfully, those days don't come often, and when they do, the Riemers are quick to raise my spirits.
As the school year is approaching, quicker than I thought, my time, as well as Avery's, working for the Riemer's is coming to an end. Today is our last day on the farm.
I will continue to do some remote work for the Riemers, but not as often as I was before. I will still continue to answer emails and feedback, and I will continue to help with website content and upkeep.
Truly, I have enjoyed working for the Riemers, and I look forward to next summer!
Thank you, Riemer Family and Anastasia, so very much!
