Steak Cooking Tips

Have you ever heard or thought that grass-fed beef is tough? What is sometimes sold as grass-fed is many years old. This produces much tougher meat than anyone wants.
We want your dinner to be amazing every single time. Riemer Family Farm and Revival Cattle Co, our exclusive beef provider and partner, take great pride in raising grass-fed and grass-finished beef that is the highest quality possible. We butcher our animals at 20-24 months old, just enough time to allow them to 'finish' or develop the fat content that makes for a juicy steak, without becoming tough and inedible.
Quick cooking guide on grass-fed steak!
1. Marinade your steak if necessary. See previous blog post for which steaks to marinade!
2. Add any high smoke point oil/ghee to a pan
3. Cook leaner cuts slower on low heat, about 6 minutes per side. Steaks with higher fat content can be cooked on medium-medium high for 3 minutes on each side.
4. Add salt and pepper, to taste
5. Once the center of the steak has reached 125° F, turn the heat off and allow to 'rest' on the stove for a couple minutes.
6. Cut against the grain and enjoy!
